Big ol' bowl of...

Cheerios starts my day off right.

This animation could have used much more rootmarm.

Comments on Length and Action Script

Your animation was way too short. I don't mind short animations, but there should be more than 10 seconds worth. I understand that you did this FBF so it's a pain in the ass to do. I give you credit for that.

It also needs to stop. Your animation just loops. You need some action script. On your last frame of the animation, go to Actions and select from among the actions, stick in "stop". Simple as that. You'll need a Replay button to get it to play again, but there are plenty of Newgrounds tutorials to find out how to do that. Or you can forget the "Stop" action and just put in a preloader. Newgrounds has plenty of those and they come with easy instructions on how to use them. The preloader can also act as your replay. Once the animation ends, it will go back to the preloader.

Looked great

I really liked your choice of colours. I think most would have went for greys and blacks and little red and green lights and what not. Your animation didn't do that and it stands out among much of Newgrounds content.

Oh wow thank you!! I take that as a very good complement!!! I try very hard to stand out!!! It may make some of my flashes controversial but thats the point. So thank you!! You have made my day!!! lol

So good, you don't care it's short

This is a very articulated and detailed animation. Which makes it ironic, because it is simple in concept. But, that's why I think it's great. Maybe even genius. The only problem I see with it is that those who haven't played Ocarina of Time probably won't get it, though I'm sure it's a small percentage of Newgrounds users, considering all the Nintendo fans (more like fanboys). In any case, this was near perfect and I say I'm going to give you the full 10 out of 10 stars. I think it's well deserved with the amount of work it looks like you put in. Good work!

Oy vey!

It's not sexist. It's satirical. It's ironic. It doesn't believe in itself. This isn't a serious animation - it's a mockery of 1950s gender roles. It's not a nostalgic "Remember how it used to be? Those were great days". Apparently, there are a few people who don't know what satire is. I thought this was hilarious and I think most women I know would think its funny, too - especially the feminist ones.

BOILING LAVA!

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat a great animation. Good work. I like the flawless integration of live action footage. I give it 10 Chili Dogs out of 10.

Shame I don't like spicy food D=

Delicious

I like it. It was a cool short piece. The animation was done very well - lots of detail. You can tell that a lot of effort was put into that short amount of space. It's amazing how a little bit can go a long way. Awesome.

For a first entry...

... this isn't bad. You seem to have the makings for a good Flash artist. I think all you need to do is put a little more time into figuring out all the little quirks of Flash and with each animation, you'll definitely get better. This was a good start, in any case, but that's all it really is: a start. Keep at it and I think you'll soon be putting out great material.

Pretty good walking/running

I really wish people wouldn't clog up the Portal with things like this - that's what the Alpha page is for. But, what are you gonna do?

I found that your running and walking are very realistic and flow nicely. One thing I noticed, however, was the choppiness of each frame. The animation of the lines isn't very smooth. However, if you were just going for that effect for style, than all the power to you. Another thing is that I found the walking dude hunch is much too exaggerated. Finally, in regards to the running, it looks like he's doing a shuffle. I assume that you modelled it after yourself running in the spot. I can tell because the legs don't step out far enough and it looks like he's doing some sort of shuffle. If you're going to keep using this technique for animating, make a note to try and make the legs step out more. Otherwise, I really like how the jacket flaps out and overall, the leg and arm movements are very smooth.

So much for that...

I was going to go to bed in a few minutes, but after that... I think I'd rather pull an all nighter to make sure the clowns don't eat me.

This was a decent entry. I gave it a 9 mainly because of the mood and tone set by the images you've created. It reminded me of The Exorcist. A lot of people consider that to be the scariest movie made, and while I tend to disagree, I can see what makes it such a disturbing movie: the images. Whether it's the little girl's disgusting facial disfigurement or the random flashes of scary faces, that's what makes it a scary flick and I think you do the same thing in your animation here. Good work.

hamesu responds:

haha i guess this animation is just another prove that the exorcist is a pioner. thanks for your comment!

"What say you, your neutralness?" "I have no strong feelings one way or the other."
